WOW! Sure looks like you guys had a great time. We are working hard to get our first plow day going in Missouri. Everything is in place for this fall, and maybe another date for a second plow day. (read the Missouri plow day thread) The only thing I am concerned with is we are a bunch of novices, compared to the group you guys have! I hope our plow days become as nice as yours looks, and maybe even attended by some plowing super stars like Glen and Mike! I would love to roll dirt with you guys! Adam |

Hugh thanks to Mike, Josh and Sally for some great hospitality and the chance to turn some dirt. Had the opportunity to attend the Jefferson Dairy Breakfast( was very good) and saw where those famous car shows are held. Shannon, do have one picture of the new engine install in the 110, took more ,but don know what happened to them. Sorry
Meet many new friends and was able to put some faces with names, had a wonderful time and again thanks for going the extra mile. |

Mike and Josh, glad you held the event and I'm glad I ignored the weather man and made the drive up. The young man that won the plow was Jon Lampe. He is 16 and that was his first plow day and I'm pretty sure he was glad he went. He is just getting into the hobby. We both had a great time and would like to thank everyone who both helped and participated. |

I couldn't wait to see Glenn's newest fabrication and of course, it didn't fail to amaze me. Great job by Mike and Josh to get the whole thing set up, great food provided by the Jefferson Lions Club. Even better job by Mike Duwwe to have the plow for a raffle. Lastly, how nice it would be to own that piece of property that's now not going to get planted...I hope next year's effort will have more people and tractors there. |

We had fun. You all left too early, by the time we got things cleaned up it had dried off enough to plow again so Josh and I went out for awhile. Mike that might be the only picture ever of the whole Drew family at a plow day. I thought my wife did an excellent job keeping the food and what not flowing. Some one went home with a nice new brinly plow, donated by Mike Duwe. I was glad so many people could make it. Glenn's new tractor is pretty cool. Mike

A huge thanks to Mike, Josh, Sally and company for hosting a great plow day. Weather worked out pretty good, a few showers but they were shot lived. The field gave us some unique challenges with hills both up and down and also hillsides. We also experienced something not seen in the black gold of IA and parts of IL: ROCKS. I ended up bending one of the shanks that holds my disks on the disk plow (of course the one part I bought and didnt build) on a big one. Otherwise it worked out pretty good. Some mods needed before the next plow day. Glenn's Red 4x4 and semi mount plow took the show. Both preformed flawlessly! Great work Glenn! Here are a few pictures from the event:

Here's the updated forecast: Today: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Patchy fog before 7am. High near 75. If we can make it until 2 I'll be pretty happy. Come on out, it's going to be a good time. Someone will be taking home a brand new Brinly plow! Mike |

Jefferson, Wisconsin, United States (53549) Lat: 43.01N, Lon: 88.81W SATURDAY Patchy fog in the morning. Thunderstorms likely in the morning...Then thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 70s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of thunderstorms 80 percent. Sorry guys, but with an 80% chance of rain, I can't justify driving 650 miles @ $4+ a gallon gas to take a chance on not being able to get into the field. Have a good time. Mike - Glenn, I'll catch you two another time to see your workmanship. Paul |

Glenn, your going to cause traffic accidents from people rubber necking when you drive by with that load! Pretty cool haul! Lots of green and yellow parts hanging from every hook and nail in my shop. Hope to put the disk plow together tonight. Will post pictures. Looks like a couple drops of rain in the forecast, but its 3 days away, forecasts change all the time. |

Good deal, looks like its going to warm up. Few sprinkles won't ruin a plow day. Disk plow is in primer as of last night, hopefully the parts will get shot Green tonight, reassembly wed or Thursday, loading Friday AM. Need to pull the loader off the 332 Turbo, wash the tractors, get the trailer and truck ready, pack everything up, fuel everything, finish the tail gate on my low buck Child Hauler trailer. I agree, not enough hours in a day. |

The National Weather Service says a 30% chance of rain. 20% chance on Friday. It sounds like the rain will be in the early evening on Saturday if at all. The forecast from NWS actually says sunshine with a chance of showers. I'm not worried. If it does rain we have a nice shed to hang out in. We've been out there getting things ready. Mike |

I emailed Ralph. Johnson Creek is about 4 miles north of the plow grounds. They have a couple of nice motels. They are right at HWY 26 and Interstate 94. They are never full. They are also having the Dairy Breakfast that morning, that is at the Jefferson County Fair Park on N. Jackson Ave if anyone is interested in that. You won't leave there hungry! http://www.jeffersoncountydairybreakfast.com/ |

I agree, I want to see the Case as well! John, bring er up! Ralph, I see Mike did not post anything. Johnson Creek has a few hotels as well, thats about 5-10 minutes from the plow day right off of HWY 94. Otherwise Fort Atkinson Is not too far from Jefferson either if your coming from the south. Hotels can be found right off of HWY 26 in both towns. (I grew up down in that area) |

John, I do hope you can make it, was thinking that the traction with the BIG wheeled 444 along with those new tires was going to be interesting.
I saved this picture, it just looks so big tractor like, anyway would like to see it, who knows, maybe hooked up to a 3 bottom plow. |

Wow, I hope I can attend this event, I heard on the radio that the "Day of Rapture" is going to occur on that date "I think". That would not be too bad, but do you suppose we could have a plow day in "Heaven with God & Jesus"? I also have several other schedule events for that day that don't involve spending about $300 for gas, etc. But who knows, maybe I'll be there anyway, I still have work to do one the CASE 444 which I would like to try out on a plowday. |

Alright, its time to show what I have been working on. Here is my plow I have been building. It turned first dirt Saturday. (Note: the entire thing is held together with tack welds for the trial run) Designed it on CAD first:
Real deal:
Here is a quick video: http://s22.photobucket.com/albums/b309/duwem/?action=view¤t=DiskPlowFirstRun.mp4 I made a number of changes since that run including putting more angle on the plow beam so the back disk takes a wider cut, and also completely redid the mounting of the land wheel. It was just temporarily rigged up for the trial run (hence the 2x4 and bungie straps), and I needed to move the whole mount over so it was in the furrow behind the disk instead of on the land. Will do a complete build thread when I get time, but wanted to get some more people excited to come to Jefferson in 2 weeks. Still have a lot to do with it in the coming weeks, but feel a lot closer now that it turned some dirt. |

Mike, There is not enough room up front for a coulter, guess I'm hoping there will not be a plugging problem. Have not done anything to the shares, but yes they do look like they are very pointed , guess it is the angle? |

Glen Are you planning on running a front coulter? Only see 2? Also, did you modify the shears on the bottoms, may be the picture angle, but they look very pointy. That is one slick rig. Hope to have mine 100% tack welded by the end of this weekend for a trial run early next week. |

Terry and Shannon, I'm still working out some details with the property owner. There are issues with some lease agreements I'm trying to get worked out. I'm hoping to know much more by the end of this week or early next week. I'll get it all worked out. We wanted to get the info out there to help people start planning. Mike |

Shannon, Email Mike Drew and ask him if it's okay to bring your disc. It's his plow event, and he should have the final say so on what can or can not be brought. As for what else to bring, again, contact Mike - he may have made preparations for food, but I don't know. Also, he should be contacted for parking and other enmities. |

That old tractor looks a little different now. Man it was a beast. We are hoping to finish some other changes to it here in the next few days. It has to be ready for plowing!

Alright, I agree, we do need pictures, just not all John Lang ones. I think this is the first time a plow got hooked on the back of a Drew's garden tractor...
We had to pry Josh off the tractor at the end of that day. Bet his arms were sore from all the steering he did to keep the tractor straight (bolts loose on the steering box)

Muddy, now thats what the ground is here... I don't think they are "random" if they are taken at a PD.. By the looks of your posts, you must not either, Mike! .. but I can respect John's wishes! Something else I'm looking forward to seeing..
but not green

Matt C, Most of them, some are Fri-Sun. I'm guessing its for setup during the week and most people can make it on Saturdays. |

I'm sure there are thousands of pictures of Mr Lang on this site. Back in the day I seem to recall ones of him on his bicycles, his goats, garden, etc as well... Let's not muddy this up with a bunch of random pictures though, let's keep a good thing going and maybe we will get to plow this spring! |

My exact route is 332 miles... I should probably find a 332 to buy for my son Miles because thats a sign from the tractor God! I better download some new sonds because 5h 36minutes each way is a lot of time in the truck! I'm going to have to dig around and find something to sell to finace the gasoline Drew's are my heroes! I love the late date too! More time for "projects"! |

1171 North Dewey Rd, Jefferson, WI 53549 I put that into Google maps and it comes close, but it doesn't find it exactly. It's the first farm north of Vogel Lane. As I get everything firmed up I'll post a GIS map of the area. They just put in a bypass around Jefferson and many older GPS units won't have the bypass in them, but the GIS has all that. Mike |

My Dad and I should be having a plow day later this spring. It would be either May 14th or May 21st. More details to follow. Josh |
