I've got a ton of pictures from PA & NY plow days. i think i already promised i'd post them twice. LOL.
Some big guy in an orange shirt is in almost everyone.
Ron, take a look thru the Plow Day threads from the WNYTCC newsletter - you're their posterboy.

Sue has me doing "HoneyDo's" in preparation for this weekend when she has 5-7 friends from "high school" down for the weekend. I'm under a lot of stress...everything has to be perfect - you'd think the Queen was coming!

Gary Forrest is being a good friend by stealing me on Saturday for the JD 175th Anniversary Gala ... i haven't thought of an excuse to get out of the house for Sunday. HELP!

You guys can use Photo bucket and then just post a link to it.
Then you don't have to re-size them.

I want to thank everyone who helped us have a great plow day. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather conditions and perfect soil. Thanks to the Schlenkers for the use of there beautiful farm fields. Thanks also to the experts who so willingly helped the new plowers set up and dial in there plows. I was glad to see that some of the dads were allowing there younger sons to plow also. We had forty nine registered plowers and recorded sixty tractors on site. At the end of the day, us garden tractors plowed twenty acres. Also, Will, your explination of a plowday is priceless.... ED

Thanks again for another great W. NY plowday. I had a great time.... made a few crooked furrows and straightened out a few and otherwise enjoyed visiting with old friends and new. Perfect weather and sandy soil with just enough moisture to keep the dust down .... It just doesn't get any better. And I enjoyed seeing a good turn out of young people also.

And most importantly I learned something new at Plowday. A wife of one of the participants told her husband that she now understands why we go to plowdays. She never herself attended a plowday but studied photo's of previous plowdays until she was able to understand why we do what we do ... which in her opinion is to stand around the edge of a field spreading BS and then getting on our little tractors to plow it down !!!!! LOL
.... and I think she got it about right !!!

Thank you to our hosts Schlenker Farms and to WNYTCC organizers and volunteers for putting together such a great Plowday! Conditions couldn't have been better for plowing some of the finest soil.
It was great seeing so many fine folks again. Now I am now looking forward to the next Plowday.
Just a side note: I think all the fresh air wore Rammer out cause he needed a nap on the trip home!

I'll echo everyone else in saying thanks to all who hosted, organized and attended plow day in Ionia. Never saw such perfect weather and perfect dirt come together at the same time! It was a good chance to put a few more names with faces and learn a few things from the pros. Special thanks to Adam Quist for towing me off the field when my fuel filter gave out! Doug

Heres the official report: We WILL be plowing Saturday in Ionia. The only thing that would hinder,(not stop)us would be at least one inch of rain between now and Saturday. The weather report says fair weather from now thru Sunday... Bring em' on! Regards, Ed

Guys and gals: We will check the fields late Thursday. I will report then. My feelings at this point are that it will be dry enough to plow. The soil is sandy and well drained. So until late Thursday afternoon, Regards, Ed

Hello Gary,

I think Peter will most likely strike out the first one anyway...... then we will see from there.

I have made mods to my 3pt plow so I am thinking it will take a bit of tuning to get it plowing well.... I might just " strike out " !!

Hi Jim, I think last year Ed gave us a field report a day or 2 before plowday. It's been pretty wet over here the last few days. Lots of standing water in some fields.

Our plow committee checked with the landowner today, and were reassured that there will be a plowday again in IONIA. The fields are a bit wet today, but will soon dry up when this rain lets up. Schlenker farms again welcoms us! See you on Saturday, May 10. There will be signs pointing to unloading areas. Plowing starts around nine. Regards, Ed, Peter and Bob.

I'm thrilled that you were thinking of me when you scheduled it on my birthday : ) My wife thinks it's awesome ; )
I shall be running my usual tiller and my new plow (from Darrin).
And I especially like that it's at the Ionia location - handy to me and good dirt! Thanks!

Cheers,
Neil.
