Hey Fellas Had a nice time plowin! Thanks to yall who help get this together. Kinda hard to keep up with all those 430 and the 440. Next time I'll just follow behind Mr. Payne's little cub. John The 212 did fine. I didn't have my plow set just right and I took the coulter wheel off because of the grass clumps and corn stubble it kept clogging. It was great ground to plow in though I enjoyed it. The tractor itself done excellent as I had plenty of weight on it so it didn't miss a lick. I ran it in 2nd gear with the variator half foward. |

Vincent, She is over 18 years old(21) so she is allowed to smoke a little if she wants to.LOL The Smoking cleared up a little bit but not much. It doesn't seem to burn any oil yet so thats good, but I will keep checking on it to make sure I hope it doesn't need rings yet. I am hoping that it is just the additive we put in it that is making the smoke and will continue to clear up as more fuel is put in the tank. But it still runs like a bear even with 2000 hours on the meter. |

Ok So who had the good tractors you know the CUBS and was that a 782 for sale??????????? Why didnt my friend Drew call me and tell me there was one there for sale. Some good photos and really missed plowing in that soil! May be a good thing I didnt go. See the way I eat they may have named the VFD after me with my donations! So what is a wizard plow? I know I tried to keep up with Don Corbin this spring in pa and I couldnt catch him. I think he said he was useing one of them. Looks like I missed a great time and those great paint jobs again. Did the black tractor stop smoking? Ill see you all in the spring for sure. Once again that soil is so much fun to plow! |

Drew You can count me in though I probably won't plow much. My 13 year old nephew is coming and is dying to plow. He runs my 430 every chance he gets and never gets enough. Maybe I can get some seat time or use someone else's who may bring more than one. Jim I vote 332 only because I want the see the 23 inch Firestone's in person.Otherwise I would vote 110. AJ |

I vote 332, 317 too.... Well guys, I couldn't stand it, had to go try the field out, and let me just tell you, IT WAS NICE. I didnt want to stop. Dont let the ground scare you from coming, I know its been dry, but this ground plows really easy. Easier than the ground back in the spring. You can just set back relax and plow...... Come on and plow boys, the ground is fine..... Here are some pics P.S. I know my plow isnt setup right in some of the pics, please forgive me.

Drew, You know we will be their. But we have a choice to make I know that I am bringing the 317 it was upset that it didn't get to plow in Tennessee last weekend so it will be their, The choice is should I bring the 332 or the 110 as the other plow tractor I kind of want to see how the 110 will plow. I will leave the choice to you guys which one would yall like to see if its the 110 I have to take the blade off and get it weighted up and ready if its the 332 it just needs to be loaded. What do yall think.. Here is the 110.
Here is the 332..

Hey Guys Had a good time with at Mayfield Plow Day, Looking forward to a great time this weekend in Alabama. I will give you an update on soil conditions later in the week. If you can come, please let me know so I can get an idea of how many tractors, and people we are going to have. As far as concessions go, Its BRING YOUR OWN FOOD AND DRINK. There is a little country family owned convenience store with a deli about 2 miles down the road (Moores Grocery) if you need one. We are going to do a little plowing friday night to lay out the field, The field has to be plowed according to the contour of the land There are no steep terrace rows or hills, so thats good. Just a slight curve or two, most of it will be straight runs. If you have any questions, please feel free to email or call me or Stewart Drew Gardner Cell: 256.572.6008 Email: dgduramax@hotmail.com Stewart Mann Cell: 256.738.3494 Email: stewart.mann@guntersvillefire.org Here is the forecast for the rest of the week.
Looks like we might need to dress warm saturday morning. Looking forward to a great time guys, see ya friday night, or saturday.. Thanks Drew |

Awesome sign. It seams that the JD guys are more ok with the Cubs than the Cub guys are with JDs. Maybe its because they have cub brains. Good thinking. Its kind of like Macs vs. PCs. The Microsoft people are usually ok with Apples but an Apple guy wouldn't be seen with a PC. |

Drew, that is better than it has been. I hope you get some. I haven't seen it this dry since the drought several years ago. Elliot got some rain for Athens plow day so that is good news. |

So guys I have watched the rain go around us for two days. If we dont get some rain here, between now and plow day, I think we are going to have problems. I dont want to discourage anyone, just letting you know. We still have some time to get a good rain, Long range forecast isnt look good, but its the Long range, so no one knows. Lets just keep praying for some rain Drew |

Hey Guys. Less than a month. Cant wait to plow again. Chance of rain next week, not much of one, but heres hoping. We can still plow and it dry, but you probably going to need some weight on your plow, I have 50 on mine, and a new share, and it will sink, pulls a little harder, but I can plow. Lets just keep praying for some rain. Having fun Fall 2009. Plowed with no weights, no ballast in tires. Would like to see the dirt look like that this year.....

I'd do just about anything to get some rain. Even ride a cub down main street!!!! It has been about 6 weeks now since we've had any significant rainfall. I'm excited boys!! I ordered a new "deere hauler" today. I hope to have it by plow day. I got tired of worrying about my old 4 cylinder truck making long trips pulling ole Betsy. (Good excuse anyways) |

Hey Guys I was off work today. Had to go turn a fall garden for a relative, Stewart came over too. ITS SO DRY........
Anyway, thought while I had the 430 loaded up, might as well go to the field and make a couple furrows, just curious if we were gong to have any trash problems, I did two furrows, about 100ft, not one plug. So I think we will be ok, if we can just get some rain. So everyone hope and pray, and do your rain dances.
P.S. The furrow is crooked for a reason. LOL |

Drew To be honest I wanna be there. I was raiding Greg's whare house yesterday, found cub parts, and he asked if he was going by him self. As of now I will not be there. If something happens the weekend before, Ill be there. Im sure you all have some type of joke up your sleeve for me! Im working on my 1872 now trying to get it running. Once I get it running then comes the fun part of buying the cat O hitch and attachments. After the 1872 is running then the loader tractor goes in the shop for a long winter time project. I really want that up and running for spring. Ill have a plow hooked to it again at RNPD. As far as rain, we got some of that storm from that low off Fla. It helped alot but we need more. My air filters were so bad after a plow day a few weeks ago I had to adjust the carbs for the plugged filter! I put in a cover crop of crimson clover in the garden and I had to water it for a week or so to get it going. So dry aint the word, more like desert dry! You know its all our fault the weather is like this, running all this old "JUNK" ! LOL |

AJ - I need to keep that disc, it was one me and my dad built when I was a kid. Anyway, I really hope you can make it, you need to go over my 430 again. LOL Vince - Whats the chances like for you to come down here. Come on down, you know you want to. Still wondering who will be here friday night to plow a little and hang out, As soon as you know if you can, please let me know so I can let my wife know. She is going to fix some finger foods and such. |

Hey Guys Stewart is 3pt Hitch Boom Poles. These are quite handy. I used mine to move some of my implements to a different location so I could mow where they had been setting. Im going to use mine from now on to pick the front of my zero turn up to change the blades. If you want one $80.00 gets you one delivered to Mayfield Plow Day or Alabama Plow Day. Im not sure, Its probably going to get dark between 5:30 and 6:00 Probably some where around 4:30 or 5:00. It don't have to be done, just thought some people might want to get a little seat time in. Then you guys could come by my house to b.s. for a while after it gets to dark. We might build a fire. Maybe I could talk the wife into fixing some finger foods, just need to know how many will be there. |

Hey, all! Looks like I'm going to be bringing my 782 or 1650 to the AL Plow Day. I have sold my 318 and some of the other JDs I had. However, I do still have the 455. I spent all day Saturday getting the 455 cleaned, polished and waxed. Put on some parts that I had ordered too. I'm really going to hate to see this one go, as it is definitely one of my favorites. Super nice tractor... Anyway, I know that I will have to get one of you guys to help me with setting up the plow on the 782. It has a Cat 0 lift, but I traded away my Cat 0 Brinly plow because I never used it. Unless someone has a better suggestion, I will be buying an "A" frame attachment with a built in sleeve hitch adapter. If I can make the TN plow day, I might have it ready to go. Counting down the days! |

Good idea about the tent Jim, and Alan. That will come in really handy. For those of you who want to come down Friday afternoon, and plow a little, stuff your face and b.s. we can do that again. We had alot of fun doing this last spring, I wont be tied up with a stuck tractor this time hopefully. Also I cant sleep in the field this time, but I will be just down the in my bed. LOL I have gotten a discount rate at the Microtel Inn & Suites. Its about 7 miles /15 minutes from the plow field. Its a really nice place as well MICROTEL INN & SUITES 220 HWY 75 North Albertville, AL 35951 General Manager: Cheryl Friend. 1 Bed = $55.00 2 Bed = $62.00 Call A.S.A.P to reserve your room. We are going to have a canopy with us at plowday to keep people from getting to much sun. Looks to be very nicely built and easy to put up. See yall in the field.

Chad, We have not done the 318 but did do the 317 and 332. The 317 was not bad but the 332 gave us fits getting the firewall back in with the engine in. Had to bend it a little to get back into place. Jim |

Jim, you got two fine machines sittin' there ready to show off. I'm looking forward to seeing them. The black weights look good too!! I took the firewall out of the 318 without pulling the engine to put new insulation on it from John Lang. Boy was that a knuckle skinner!! I'm not sure I can re-install it without pulling the engine. Have you had any luck doing it or do you pull the engines? |

Hopefully these are the tractors we will be able to bring to Alabama Plowday, if every thing works out with the trailer. Didn't get to do any plowing today, but did get them out in the sun for a while.

Drew, you couldn't wait either could you? I knocked the shine off my plow the other day as well. That ole girl is in good shape too!! I'm thinking we will have to trade a few rounds this time. Vincent, I'm glad to hear you got a job. Times are tough right now for a lot of folks. I'm a blessed man with a steady job, but I feel for the folks trying to get by the way things are now. We are all blessed to live in such a great country where we can gather together and have a blast with these little tractors. I can't wait!!!! By the way, if the 582 shows up, I might have to swap rides with you for a round!! |

Well guys some good news here, no I didnt buy another deere. I got me a job, THANK GOD, so Ill have to pick between bamma and tenn. I got my tires the other day and Ill be putting them on this weekend. I cant wait to get it in the dirt. Drew i cant wait to get back down there. I had so much fun this spring! Ive really enjoyed working on this 582 that it looks like Ill be draging home a 482. Its a basket case with no rear or eng. That ok cause I have one of each ready to go in! Ill drop a comand 18 in it but I wont use a pulling spring this time. That just too heavy for yard work or crusing threw the woods. |

I have seen it. You have quiet an arsenal of machines there!! ALL look good. Even the "off" brands. Just kidding!! I wouldn't mind owning a 782 myself. That 455 is one good looking beast. I hope you have it set up by plow day. I would really like to see one plowing. Looking forward to meeting you and hopefully several more new faces. |

Chad, Here are a few pics. You may have seen the 318 on the Nashville CL, as I have been trying to sell it. Looks like I'm going to have it through this winter! If the 455 is not outfitted with a 3-point, then I will probably have to bring one of the Cubs.

Will try to get some pics posted. Most pics are of Cubs. The 318 is very nice, but I'm working on getting the 455 ready for the dance. Need to get lugs, weights (front & rear), and Cat 0 lift arms. I traded my Brinly 3pt plow earlier this year, as I thought it was just too big for the 782. Sure wish I had it now! |

Hey Steven, We would love for you to come down. I have always wanted to see a 455 plow. You will have alot of people drooling at the mouth down here. Some of my friends especially. If you dont get to bring it, we would love to see the cubs too, we dont care. Bring who ever you would like, we are going to have a blast. I might also mention the Mayfield plow day thats in Athens TN. You can find it also in the upcomming events. Alot of the guys that come to this plow day are going to it also. I know me and Stewart are. Its the weekend before ours. BTW welcome to WFM. |

Hey Steven, Welcome to WFM!! It is good to see another member this close. I live in McMinnville, which is about 80 miles southeast of Nashville. I am going to the fall Alabama plow day for sure!! I went down in the spring and had a blast!! There are some great people on this forum and at this plow event. I bet Vincent is foaming at the mouth after reading about your cubs!! Since we haven't seen your tractors, could you post some pics? |

Hello, All! I'm new to WFM, but not new to garden tractors. I would really like to come down to the AL Plowday. I'm hoping to have my 455 setup to plow by next month. However, should I not have it ready, then I would have to bring my Cub 1650 or 782. I'm trying to round up a few other guys from the area if that is ok with you guys. Just let me know. Thanks! Given an infinite number of vacation days, free time, no other obligations, gas money, hotel money and ambition, I would love to go on a "plow day tour" each spring and fall, but we all know that's not reality. Plan is to make it to one of the neighboring states this fall. Here is the beast though. Few weeks before Rockford, IA then at the plow day.

Drew now I know you talk to the cub guys late at night when your all alone, Rick told me LOL! So your cheating on you deere buddies! Ran into a lot of trouble today on the 582. This is my first time into a reared, to fix, instead of parting it. I wish I could resize the pics, man was it bad! The P/O had the brakes adjusted wrong and it wore into the casting wiping out he brake rotor and some other parts! The plunger is 116$ and the rotor is 150! Man you think they had green paint on them! I got everything i need from a guy in the Charlotte area so I hope to have it back up by the first of next week. The guy came today to tae my 110 away. I told him about the site and hes in the Atl area so maybe he will come in Nov. Real nice guy into restoring. Im trying to tell everyone I meet about it so drew is overwhelmed. |

Chad Weve been running this thing around all week. I cant get the chatter out of the clutch but the old girl will pull! I wish I could do the restorations as some do where they pull them down to the frame and shot them. I dont have patince to do that. I really am starting to like the 82 series. I parted out a 1863 a few monthe back and they are so easy to work on. Lots of room and all. I like that with 3 bolts and 4 on the drive shaft and the eng is out. I still like the looks of my narrow frame tractor, but if I can find another 582 with a bad eng Im gonna snatch it up. Ill break it in in charlotte in a few weeks. Im heading there on Sept 11 then to northern Oh, Mayfield, then finish the season off at Drews place. Oh and then back to Pa for Thanksgiving and some DEERE hunting |

Vincent, I am sorry to hear that you are out of REAL tractors. You could probably take what you are spending trying to keep those cubs running and adjusted and buy a good, maintenance free JOHN!!! Just a suggestion..... I'm just pokin' atcha!! I'm interested in checking out your 582. When they are restored, they are sharp machines. If I was going to own an off brand, the 582 would probably be my choice. |

Seems I didnt get it right the first time, but its better than they were. Then late next week Ill finish up the 582 and get it "Jeff" ready once again I may have bitten off more than I can chew, naaaaaaa not realy. I hope to have the 1872 up and plow ready for the spring. Jeff I know what your wepon is, a little water company worker let it out of the bag! LOL I dont know if its like that 582. Mines missing the aluminm wheels, fancy paint and it dose have the hp and to power for sure. I like a 318 for sure. They ride nice and like my 129 it has hydro lift. I like the cat ) 3pts, but the plows for them are high! I picked up an 1872 the other day and it will have the cat O plow and stuff on it. Its going to need some work, someone has been into the eng, lets hope they did everything right, so I plan on having it ready for the spring plow days. Im going to need to rebuild the power steering on it, it will be a while till its working. Drew I dont know about the rest of these guys but Im having fun! |

Me and Drew thought it would be best not to bush hog down the corn stalks afterall.Drew has been on chat with some plow day veterans and thats what they say also.It should help keep the plow clean from trash. |

Vincent, No this was our latest project we just finished.
Thats a picture of it the way we got it on May 17th. We got this 332 from a guy that was at the last Alabama Plow Day, maybe he will show up at this one also and bring his nice 430 with him. So Thomas if you are reading this we would love to see you at the next plow day would even let you take a ride on your old 332. |

Drew, It did not take you guys long to find a field. I look forward to being their if possible. I would like to bring the 317 and 332 it would b neat to see them both in the field at the same time but am limited to just one spot on the trailer, but you never know maybe I can find a way to get them both there. |
