Feeling the Love here. I have a bunch of pics from some cool jobs, But I have been holding back due to picture quality. I don't know much about cameras. So when I was in Office Depot last week, I walked away from the cameras. To many decisions to make. |

I have a few instruction sheets on how to install some JD factory equipment. Where would be a good place I can post them or send to someone so that they can be viewed as a page by themselves? |

Adam Thanks for posting your pictures of your 110. Looks like it was a fairly nice tractor. To bad you had to sell it. I understand the space issue. I have the same problem. I want a RF but life has thrown me a curve ball and it's going to be a while later David |

David, I no longer own my 110. I had to whittled down my herd because I was running out of space. I hated to do it but I got tired of moving 6 tractors just to work on something. Now I am down to just 3 tractors. Here are a few of my 110 when I had it. Adam

Finally got the duals mounted on my 140 and as you can see in the pictures one of the previous owners cut both sides of the 54C blade so he could mount a loader instead of just taking the blade off.

Roger, I have them sitting side by side in my garage. I agree, there is Nothing close to being similar on these 2 machines. Just a hair brained idea as this 70 is my winter restoration project. |

There is nothing about the 70 lawn tractor and the 200 series garden tractor that is the same except maybe a few bolts and possibly a couple of bearings. I doubt it would work even with a lot of modification. The only other garden tractor part on a 70 is the hood which is the same one used with RF tractors. Roger |

Greetings, Has anyone ever put a electric lift from a 200 series onto a 70 series. Just curious as I have a 214 with electric lift and not sure what to do with it.. 214 has typical blown Kohler situation. |

Sorry, I should've mentioned it was a '67. I just wanted the round fender tractor vs. the square fender. As for the snowblower, if I can't make it work on my tractor, I'll resell it. |

Shane if you register the tractor above it will give more information about your tractor but I believe it is a 1967. See if your friend can take the snow blower back as it will not work on your tractor. Your tractor needs a model 36 blower for it to work. Roger |

Hi all. I just picked up my first John Deere tractor on Thursday. A friend of mine was showing me his 2012 John Deere calendar he got from the local dealer and I saw the '63 110 pictured. I immediately knew I wanted one of those. I really like the look of the round fenders and hood. It looks like a scaled full-size tractor! Anyway, I got this for $400 as it sits. It came with the original engine and starter that needs a new connecting rod for sure (I haven't opened it up to see what else). The deck has a hole I need to cut out and weld up. The hood is cracked like almost all of the ones I looked at on Craigslist and the steering wheel is likely cracked judging by the wrap of electrical tape on it. I need to take some things apart and see if I can adapt the start to the current motor in tractor since it runs beautifully but I don't care for the pull start. Before I even bought this tractor, I had a friend near Lansing pick me up a 37A blower for $75. Tractor serial is T1306 071679M Brass deck serial is E0038 072801M For the life of me, I can not figure out how to attach pictures. I've been on forums for about a decade now and this is the first time I've ever been confused by the coding. |

Adam - I'm certainly no expert , but can see that you are getting closer to perfecting your skills . May want to focus a little more on holding camera perfectly still , and let the automatic focus do it's job before you finally snap . What I'm seeing is a little out of focus , and may have some light scattering involved . Natural light in early morning / or late evening is always best . Try to always have sun at your back if composing in mid-day , and might want to experiment with a tri-pod to keep camera still . Just a teeny-bit of shake will throw off what otherwise would have been a perfect picture . Practice makes perfect , as with anything ; and picture composition is very tricky . You are on the right track! Dave |

David J. I have an x728 that I mow with. The Field Trax tires that are on it are great for mowing and don't tear up the lawn unless you do something stupid. I think they would work good for snow as they have a bunch of biting edges that will get a good bite on snow. |

Leonard The tires on my 110 are an off brand I bought when I restored the tractor 5 years ago. The name is Duro, The size is 23x10.50x12. This past summer I put Carlisle bar tires on my 140, same size and there is a huge difference in the height which I'm glad there is because the Duro tires would have been to short. Here's a picture side by side.

Same ? here. I have just finished with the restoration of a JD 430 and am ready to buy tires for it. It came with a set of turfs. I will be plowing with it this winter and mowing with it in the summer. Ideally I am looking for a tire that can do both without the need for chains in the winter (proper weighting considered) but not tearing up the lawn in the summer. I have gotten lots of opinions from JD dealers who recommend a Carlisle multi track tire. From the posts I've read on WFM it seems that people like the Tru-powers. They look very agressive for a lawn to me. I would love to get member's opinions who have had this experience. Thanks for any help you can give! |

Today is the anniversary of the beginning of the Battle of the Bulge. The battle was fought in one of the worst winters they had seen in Europe in decades. By the time the battle was over on January 25, 1945 our forces had suffered over 19,000 were killed, 47,000 wounded and 23,000 captured. If you have the opportunity and honor to meet a veteran of this battle, thank them. |

Don't know if this is the place but I need to tell this story. I live out in the country. My closest neighbor got his new 25HP $25,000 little Deere compact tractor out to plow the 10" of new snow and managed to drive the right side into the borrow ditch. After a while here comes another neighbor's hired hands driving a 125HP Deere tractor to pull the baby one out of the ditch. Nice to have a lot of traction power around here. Luckily my property doesn't have ditches and I was able to clear the drive with my 140 and blade without help. |

I see a lot of recent photos here resize too small. I do believe it's the settings on the camera. The newer cameras have higher resolutions capabilities than the older ones, like my Kodak CX7330, which only has 3.1 mp. Even when I get pictures from members with the larger file sizes, Irfanview seems to handle it better than the other resizing softwares available. |

Adam, the bottom image is only 45.6kb. The better image the sensor picks up, the larger the file. That means the better the color, contrast, clarity etc the image, the larger the file. My Olympus EPL1 file size in JPEG mode and the highest quality produces images in the 4 to 6Mb range, depending on lighting. Better lighting, better color/contrast, bigger file size. |

No problem David, I've been using it for years to make posting pics on the web easier. Far faster than using Photoshop to do it! I see a lot of other Ohio guys on here, does anyone ever put any events together or make it to the Antique Machinery show in Hancock County that happens in August? That's almost in my back yard, literally. I always see a good showing of Deeres, both poppers and less than 1992's... |

Todd G. & Bunky: That seat suspension and cushion on a JD 300 & posted 12/10/11 #523 looks a lot like a Knoedler MFG., Inc. of Streator, Illinois set up found on their web site under lawn & garden. The name is pronounced need-ler. I have a Knoedler open faced tool box that fits under the seat suspension they used to replace the original steel seat suspension found on the JD farm tractor's prior to the 1950's. Am I dating my age yet? See the web site WWW.knoedler.com. The Illinois address comes from the decal on the end of my tool box. Hope this info is help full. Greg Johnson Winthrop, MN |

For Windows users, there is a Microsoft applet that called Power Toys Photo Resizer. Install that PowerToy, then right click any supported image file (like jpg/jpeg) and you can set it to 640x480. click on the PowerToys tab... http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-xp how to use it... http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-xp/help/digitalphotography/resize-digital-pictures Very handy. |

Doug, There are lots of ways to get the results you want, but the e-mail you sent me had your images in the text field of the message and not as a file attachment, so I don't have the full resolution version to work with... All the resizing methods that work well balance the quality (compression factors) with the resolution which is measured in pixels for both height and width. Lots of useful information on line, in your camera manual and computer software that came with the camera, and in several threads on this site as well. Send me the *original image files* with the .JPG extension, and I will give it a try for you. Chuck |

Doug I use a program called ImageWell. Drop the picture in the program. Make sure it is set 640 x 480. Move the slide bar until it is under 75 KB and save it as new file. Then post. It takes about 30 seconds to do this on my MAC. Also I would recommend if you are taking pictures for internet usage turn the settings on you camera to the lowest you can before you start. Roger |
