I have what I thought was a 48" deck on my 318. When I bought new blades the dealer informed me it was only 46". No big deal. Now I needed a new drive belt for the deck and the one I got from NAPA is to long. The deck model # is m00596x. I can't find this deck on jdparts.com. the belt I got was equivalent to jd # m119872. Which drive belt do I need and why can't I find this deck on jdparts.com.
Thanks
cliff

Cliff,

The parts catalog on the JDParts site covering your 46 inch mid-mount mower deck is PC 1935. The part number for the PTO to deck drive belt for a 318 application is M82718.

This same deck uses a different length belt for the Yanmar engined tractors like my 322 and the 332 since the crankshaft (and hence the PTO) on these engines is not at the same height relative to the tractor's frame as is the Onan engine...

Thanks Chuck.
You are a wealth of information and very much appreciated as I just couldn't figure it out. You are one of the many people on this site that makes it so great at helping people keep these tractors going.
Thanks
