I have done all kinds of things to figure out why the engine surges. I rebuilt the carb , set the gap in the points and plug, tried to reset the govener like the manual says to do. It runs fine when it is just idling but when you throttle it up it goes roof roof. And it dosen't sound like its not running at full rpms. All suggestions will be appreciated. thanks |

What kind of tractor and what kind of engine? If it is a Tecumseh powered 112 you need to replace the carburetor main jet with Tecumseh service jet 30355 or modify the original jet so it is like the service jet 30355. Roger |

Sorry for not telling you what kind of tractor. It is a 67 110 with a 8 hp kohler. I found out if i adjusted the govener I got the surging to stop but I am having a hard time getting the rpm set to 3800 like the manual says. Is there a secret to setting the govener. Thanks |
