Thanks Ed. The colors may be on a bit of the warm side, but that is a characteristic
of the film....plus I am colorblind so I might be off a bit. LOL

Its MY time to say thanks to all of you who came to our Plowday! I was very pleased with the great number of folks who came out to plow!:All the local NY. boys, The PA.boys, and of coarse Tom and Donna from Ohio. Many thanks for making the trip in spite of the threatening weather reports. I got to see some faces in person that I have chatted with on the WFM site. All in all, a great turnout! Thank you to all who attended. Regards, Ed

Ditto on the Thanks to Ed Wheeler and Don and Bonnie Grentzinger...what a great place they have there. I didn't get to go to
last years PD and I was really surprised when we went in for lunch and what was in that barn. Very cool.

Next time I'll have a tractor there and will be getting dirty with the rest of you, but I did enjoy taking some pictures.

I scanned in all the film last night and put them up on pbase. If you want a full size of a picture shoot me and email and I'll get it out to you.

Good to see you all had a dry day and a good time on your plow day. We on the north side of Lake Ontario had pouring rain, snow flurries and whiteouts last night, and arose this morning to snow on the yard. Worked out well, eh?
All the best.

Thanks again

I would like to thank the club for hosting plow day a big hats off to Don for having it at his beautiful property. With liability the way it is I think it is very generous of him. I hope folks didn't think I was rude for not coming in and saying good bye. I have family home from out of state and wanted to get home. See everyone next time around....Jim

Second that Andy. This was my first JD plough day and I really enjoyed it. Thanks very much to Ron White for letting me borrow his plough. I managed to get a few laps in before he needed it back so's not to miss out on the fun! And thanks to the ladies that catered the day and the land-owner - much appreciated! It'd be great to do some more ploughing (or discing or tilling) in the area. It was just enough to whet the appetite but I need more : )
Here's a pic from the day - it blew like crazy but luckily the rain held off and the ground was in really good shape. Points to whoever figures out what's wrong with my tractor (other than the paint job...)

Cheers,
Neil.

Now they are saying the heavy stuff may stay to the West so here is hoping. I'll decide tonight whether to
strip the deck off the 316 and load it up or leave it home and just bring the camera.

Sounds good to me !!

Darrin & I were talking a few days ago and he was thinking of possibly having all of us getting together for a late lunch/early dinner after the plow day. I think this is a good idea. If we do get too much rain to plow or get rained out, we could at least go to lunch.

See you all tomorrow

Darren, I agree 100%!Lets just do it! If we get a shower, we have lots of buildings that we can get under cover. Don (the host farm) has an extensive collection of "everything" that we can view while bonding with our plow buddies. I wouldn't miss it! Besides, the J.D.s all have fiberglass hoods, and wont rust!, Mud washes off, and get togethers are remembered for a long time. Come on out guys and Gals, lets plow..... Regards, Ed

Guys, we are still plowing. NO RAIN DATE. Saturday, or never. We will have indoor buildings to go in if a shower does develop. My cell is always on: (585) 748-0505. My E-Mail is listed incorrectly on the site, and I can't seem to change it. It should be rwheeler@rochester.rr.com. The weather forecasters have been wrong all week, and we are subject to lake effect conditions. So lets just go plowing!

John,

That is great that your son will be joining in on the fun. I can't wait til my Twins get a bit older so they can join in as well, just hope they still have the same interest they show now for the tractors.
And besides, that means two more tractors for our herd

Lets just hope that the weather forecast changes in a couple more days.

Bryan,

Nice truck !! That should do some haulin' !!

Guys, I am counting down the days until WNY Plow day! I will be bringing my 9 year old son.He puts a lot of hours on my tractors, this time he will have a chance operate rather then "drive" one. This will be his first time plowing.
Maybe he will like it and we can start finding him tractors of his own !!! lol

I can deal with the 56F and wind hold the showers. Got the generator on the 110 yesterday and found the bearings were whipped. Looks like I'll have to get some this week.

getting close, I'm excited to be attending this year. We have a truck full coming along too. I was nominated to drive since i got this last week..... i am NOT a red kinda guy, both in trucks and tractors, but it was a great deal, so i will be hauling some green with it anyway!

As luck would have it, a 3pt linkage showed up at my house yesterday (a 48" tiller a couple of days earlier as well...) so I could theoretically mount a plough but it'd be like pulling the skin off a rice pudding as I have lawn tires and no weights (apart from the lug that sits in the seat...). Oh well, I can give everyone a laugh by trying anyway. I would have liked to give the tiller a run but the 430 pto is on next month's budget...

Cheers,
Neil.

But seriously you won't need a plow to enjoy the day. Find me and you can borrow a 140 for awhile.

Hi Neil

You're right around the corner from me.

Would love to see the 430 out there. I am sure there will be extra plows laying about. I know I don't plan on plowing all the time so you can always borrow mine.

Hi Ed,
Neil here from Pittsford. I just bought a 430 this winter (the one from Albion). I don't have a plough (excuse the NZ spelling : ) but is it ok if I just bring my unit out for the day? Hopefully work won't throw a wrench in the works and I'll be able to make it.

Cheers,
Neil.

I put a "JB" repair on the leaking tank to get me through plowday season and then will look over my parts tractors for a good tank. Andy you can plow with my 140 so I can find time for BS and picture taking. Lately I seem to be doing more BSing than plowing.

.... But at Danville I have Walter to blame cause he started it LOLOL

Well is a bit hard to find funds to attend 3 plowdays but I think I can make it and am still planning to be there. Somehow I missed meeting Andy Fisher at Danville so lets get it done Andy. Also never get much time to visit with Bryan and Josh because they are so busy running the show.

Also you NY boys need to have an award for first tractor to break down or run out of gas. CC's usually are first to break down!

.... I had a hole in my fuel tank at Danville so was pleased to win an award (but its not quite like winning best of show LOL)

Tom, wives are definatly allowed! There are not too many that accompany us on these adventures, but there are a few. The ones that DO attend always have a good time. Actually, I will probably not be plowing, as I am (sort of) the host, but my tractor will be there for her to use if she, (or you) need a ride. Hope to see you both at the event! I guarantee that it will not be nearly as exciting as Danville, but we intend to have a great Plow day, even if the numbers will be signafficiantly lower. BUT! you will probably know almost everybody at the event by the time you decide to go back north to the great country of CANADA. Please attend with your wife! I always wanted to meet the wife of a HOCKEY PLAYER! Regards, Ed

ed...
my wife has no understanding why i need to drive to PA, IA, IN, IL and upstate NY to enjoy this hobby.
i'm thinking that if i brought her to your WNY event, she would at least have an understanding of the attraction and get to meet a few of you (cuz i talk so highly of all of you).
are wives allowed?
i probably still won't have the tractor ready but this also might convince her to loosen some purse strings for parts and a trailer.

Guys, this is an update about the Western NY. Plow day, Sat May 8th. We decided to move the plowing field a short distance to accomodate more and perhaps better ground,( and because the farmer just planted peas on the original plot.) The event will be approx one mile West, and one half mile South of the last years plow day. The address for your garmin would be: 4735 Sweeden-Walker Rd. Brockport, NY. We will have signs directing you from the site listed previously. Hope to see a good number of plowing enthusiasts join us. Thanks, Ed By the way, my E-Mail is listed incorrectly on the site. it is rwheeler@rochester.rr.com (no capital letters) Ed.

I've got this marked on the calendar! Lets hope we both have great weather this year. About 3 1/2 hours for me, and it looks like we're close enough to go swimming in Lake Ontario. I don't know who will come with me, my wife will be 7 months along, and won't go for a trip that far i think. I'm sure i can find someone.

Again this year, the Western New York Two Cylinder Club is hosting a spring plow day. The event will be held at the same place as last year at Robbs Farm in Spencerport, NY. Hots and pops are avaliable at lunch time for a reasonable price. All Garden tractors are welcome. Please come join us.... Regards, Ed wheeler.
