Hmmm, Mike H usually fixes that stuff. Vikings playoff game today. He's from MN, watch Brent Farve or fix WFM? After being a Packers fan for all those years I can tell you if Farve's playing good, I'd watch the game. If ole Brent didn't bring his game, it'd be best to just turn it off and fix WFM it will be less frustrating! |

Hi guys I visited a collection of vintage Massey Harris tractors today here in NZ. I came across a very rare lawn tractor it looks so cool for a orange tractor.

Chas Weller, Deck will either be a 47" (two wheels visible, or 46" 4 wheels visible), things to look for: Tractor runs good with no smoke, these run at wide open throttle to work so make sure it can. Drive it and put it in each gear and run it for a while to see if it pops out of gear, if manual lift not normally any issues, if electric make sure that it will lift the snowblower and have owner show you how to adjust lift stop. Hydraulic lift is best! Check variator (small handle on right side) to make sure your speed increases (varies) when it is moves forward! Check that when off seat PTO will not engage if it is electric PTO (if it does safety is not working). Around engine are four rubber engine mounts make sure rubber is good on all of them! Blade should be pretty bulletproof, check it to make sure angle locking mechanism works, if angle kit (very rare) is on it you should be able to angle from the seat. Snowblower, check belt and pull right cover off and inspect chain and sprockets for wear. Auger should not be bent or have splits in it (some minor bends are ok). Deck pull cover off belt and check how bad rust is, this is worst spot! |

James - Congrats on the purchase and please get pics up so we can drool over it. As others have suggested... with the coaching of this group you will be fine on the work. I am north of Blair and could offer some local moral support if needed but my schedule can be rather challenging between now and May. |

well i finally got these pictures resized to show you guy's the 1985 214 I found hiding in a barn for 8 years it had a rear broken engine mount. took her all apart cleaned every thing head to rear replaced all the belt's cleaned carb, points clean 1000 grit sand paper, new gas line, changed rear end oil, bearing's in the 39" deck no rust holes in deck just surface rust.wire wheel took care of that. painted the deck.Bought a 37A blower for it and rebuilt that also.So what do you guy's think I paid 50.00$ for her.I am so happy i have a JOHN DEERE and I just love sitting down on her when blowing all that snow away.sure beats the toro 7-24 walk behind.that i bought new in 85.

James, Not to pressure you, but I personally have learned a lot over the last couple years from actually wrenching on my own tractor. A service manual is very important tool, and the things you have listed seem to be simple. The pride of completing a project yourself is the best part of the hobby. For example,** taking off the covers, hood, fender pan are all very simple tasks.. You just need to take them to a sandblaster/painter to make them look like new again. I'm sure you are capable of doing. When you get the stuff back, reinstall and slap some stickers on her! Regardless of how you do YOUR restore, I'm sure you'll have a great 322 when its done! **Organization is key. Many guys use ziplock freezer bags with the white labels on them. Before you start you disassembly, label the bags from 1-XX. As you take out bolts, you place them in the bags and write on a notepad where you took the bolts. If you drop the bags, they are labeled and you can put them back in order, also by putting bag #1 in the back of the tray, and stacking the bags in front of them, you keep your project in order of how you tore it apart and your memory will help you to remember how to reinstall things. Take pictures and make it a learning experience for yourself and you will love it as well as find it VERY EASY! Everyone started someplace.. |

Steve, that F935 would be a good one to put a snow blower on. I looked at a 30hp model with deck, blower and sweeper with a heated cab. It was a nice setup but I couldn't afford it. |

I am wanting to get it restored (IE paint, seat and some small mechanical stuff). If you know of anyone please let me know. Thanks James collins6738@yahoo.com |

Tom G 50 carts are the baby brother to the 80 cart. Generally designed to be used with lawn tractors and RERs. 5 cubic feet of space thus the 50 name. Early 1970s to late 1980s for time period and that could be off by a couple of years. Here is the one I picked up a couple of years ago at a JD dealer for $50. Roger

Steve, that zero turn (or whatever you call it) is neat ! Sounds like a great engine in there too. I guess you can really mow some grass with that thing once you get the "gremlins" out of it. I picked up a (briggs powered) 48" Bobcat-lynx zero-turn myself last year that has some gremlins that I am looking to sell (cheap)to make room for my John Deeres. It is built like a tank and a real pain to move around (not running) and takes up quite a bit of room in my 'stable'. I should be able to mow my grass with it in 6 minutes !.........Ed. |

Thanks for the nice comments on the 2010 calendar, they are kind of fun to make. The hardest part is to find one that will work for the cover page.In most cases I have to crop them to get them to work.I do look for a nice background which will make them look better,so keep that in mind when doing a photo shoot. Doug Linton I got your email and yes it was me that put them in the gallery.Still need to work on my computer skills so I do a better job on this,OH well I have over 11 months before the 2011 calendar goes in. Mike Duwe I could put the model, year and owners name on them.It would be a little more work but doable,I could just make a frame up and just drop it on the pic and type the info in later. |

Hello guys. I'm seriously thinking about buying an 1986 330 with 48" deck and 49 thrower. I'm not familiar with the 330 so I'm wondering if there is anything I should be aware of or should be looking for with this model. I completely forgot to check for hours. The tractor and deck look almost mint, no apparent leaks and the engine runs smoothly. Any input would be appreciated. Randy |

I just picked up this F935 front mower with a 72 inch deck. It's been sitting for a while but I got the injector pump freed up and the 22 hp Yanmar Diesel fired up. This tractor has been used pretty hard over its 2080 hours. The deck is rust free but has been used as a battering ram a few times. I have alot of gremlins to work out of this one.

Phillip & Kenny, with the 17 cu. ft. Agri-Fab.... so long as you don't bend the tongue, you haven't overloaded it... YET! I managed to do that years ago loading it to the brim with nickel to quarter sized river rock. It was full, and heavy! I have no clue what it weighed full, though. |

Phillip, If that is a 17 cu.ft cart,i have one identical to it,and i think if i REMEMBER,i think the weight capacity is around 1200-1600 pounds.I have loaded mine VERY full with gravel, dirt, sand and other stuff.I loaded it with our Bobcat. We have the big bucket on it,and i can get a full bucket, and a good 3/4 of another one in it.I have had the tires squat pretty good on my wagon, just bumped up the air pressure, and go along with it.It did dump pretty easily being that heavy. |

Anybody know what the GVW is on a Agri-Fab cart? I don't think I've hit it yet. I had to bump the pressure in the tires to 60lbs, they kept blowing off the rims.

I finally got around to checking out the 2010 calendar in the Gallery today. I see my 332 got a "rear end" shot for September cutting grass along my parents driveway with a haban sickle mower. Congrats to the others that are on there! I would ask that we substitute Roy's RF 110 parade rig with his caddy though...as it seems to be more popular on here going into 2010. One suggestion for next year would be to have a little box in the corner of each picture giving the tractor/attachment details (model and year) and owners name like they do on antique farm tractor calendars. |

John Moore, I don't have any other pics of the whatever it is Tractor. I called him and he sounds weird about it. He said he has only had it for "A WHILE' and is ready to move on . He doesn't know if it has a site tube or dipstick, He doesn't know how long ago the motor was installed but assured me the tag on the motor says P218G Onan and admits it is a repowered unit. I think maybe he bought it not really knowing what he got and now he's trying to unload his problem..... I told him I would check back come Saturday and maybe look at it, but sell it if ya can buddy, lol |

I like the manual steering on my 18HP onan 316 better than the power steering on my 318s. A couple things I'd like on my newer 316 Onan is the dual brakes and dual hydraulic circuits. Of course an hour meter and reserve fuel supply valve would be cool too. |

JD, sounds like you will have everything you need to do the swap with the two tractors. I would go for it. I put a P218 in place of a B series in a 318 and it was not a hard transplant. |

JD, Not a bad conversion at all to put a P218G in a 318 that previously had a B series Onan! Sorry my thorough discussion in my earlier post was any discouragement -- it was not meant to be anything other than informative... Just notch the frame for the solenoid clearance or change the pan & starter from the old engine and use a firewall mounted solenoid. Since the drive shaft is a bit shorter in the older 318 tractor, you can either get a spacer -- or use the flywheel from the older B series engine which fits that shorter shaft. Many folks here have put the more up-to-date electronic ignition P series engine into the 1986 and earlier tractors, so a search here on the topic will yield a wealth of information. If the price is right, you should get that 318. Just the upgrade to power steering is worth the effort alone and the dual spool hydraulics and turning brakes are valuable features as well. Show us pictures when you get it... Chuck |

Thanks for the help Chuck my 316 is the p218g and the 318 has points, so I am guessing that means the older model. Sounds like too much trouble to convert huh? Too bad, that 318 is in awesome condition. |
