Ok everyone, this sounds and feels bad.

Has anyone else gotten this email?

Is it someone that has taken info from this site and is trying to scam or use info to put on EvilBay to rip people off?

I don't know and I haven't linked to any of the sites. I suggest you don't either until we find out what this is all about.

Any help out there?

Thanks, GRP

HAPCO offers a decal kit for the 80 dump cart. I purchased one from them last fall. Great quality.

Hello everyone. This is my first post. I have been reading a lot here and used the site to research my purchase of my first John Deere.

I bought a 318 last November with a deck and a 54 hydraulic blade which came in handy this winter for pushing snow. I only wish I had some more weight for traction since my drive is on a hill. It came with ag tires and chains, but I am thinking the turf tires with chains might be better in snow, any opinions? I did buy a set of turf tires a few weeks ago but have not tried them out yet.

I also recently bought a Brinly 10" plow and single-gang disc. They are both the sleeve hitch type and now I need to add a 3 point hitch and sleeve hitch adapter. It almost time for starting that garden!

I have been looking at the aftermarket hitches. Ruegg and Redland Hill are prevalent on ebay, and I see that Ruegg is a sponsor here. I noticed they are two pretty diverse designs and I was wondering if anyone here has had experience with either one or both and pros and cons.

I have just about given up on finding a JD original hitch, so if anyone can point me at one, (reasonably-priced) it would be much appreciated.

That is probably enough questions for my first post.

Thanks in advance!

Scott

Kevin,

What Mike is saying is that all the front attachments for the 318 gas two cylinder Onan engined tractors will also fit the 3 cylinder Yanmar engined 300 series tractors, both gas and diesel (322, 330 and 332...)

Hi guys, I have a request for a project that I am working on. If any one has a 400 rear axle tube removed from their tractor either broken or under repair, I could sure use a detailed drawing of the flange with bolt hole locations where it bolts to the main housing. Thanks in advance. E-mail in my profile.

Have not posted in a while, but noticed someone was asking if $1050.00 was a good price for a 318 with a decent deck. Well yes that is a good price. Any 318 that runs well is worth $1000. Particularly a "newer" model with the nicer Onan P218 engine. Anyone (near Texas) looking to sell a nice running newer 318 + deck for less then $1000 please contact me.

I am replacing the alternator on my 322. The wires coming from the alternator have been hard wired to the wires going to the voltage regulator. Does it matter which wire from the ALT goes to which wire on the VR? I assume not since it is an AC alternator but just want to double check.

Here is what it looks like;

Tony.. that picture looks like my garage :-)

You can find some information here : http://www.weekendfreedommachines.com/discus/messages/335/142255.html

You would think a guy who owns one would know.. but...

First production year
80 cart - 1964
50 cart - 1972
30 cart - I thought mine was a 1985

If I was you I'd buy it.. Doesn't matter the year.. :-)

Steve,

John Haines stated it perfectly. I have a JD key that needs the rest of the tractor to be useful. I would like to offer you $464.98 for that 300. I would even pick it up.

Steve, Beautiful tractor parts are to used to make and fix other tractors to keep them from going to parts or the scrap yard.

That 300 will make you a nice tractor or if it went for parts,it could have got two or tree more disabled tractors up and running and looking good.

It's great you got yourself a nice tractor at a nice price but not so great for those looking for parts to get their tractors up and running.

My point is this, unless parts are going to used on non-Deere items, they are all going to be used for keeping Deere's up and running and looking good.

Does anyone have a 140 service manual that could get me info on maintenance and troubleshooting tips on the hydro-static rear end? I have one coming home with me tonight after work and was told that it leaks 'alot'. I already plan to wipe off all excess dirt and oil and put cardboard under it to see where the leak is coming from. Thanks.

What condition qualifies a tractor to be a candidate for parts?

Mike, the "S" is for electric start. The later JD tractors used an AQS engine, which was A for special oil pan, Q for quietline, and S for electric start.

Hey Steve nice buy ! A few of us from western Pa. went to the Rogers Ohio consignment auction today and John Haines was driving ..... before we left for Rogers he had offered $500 for that same 300 !!!

I almost didn't want to believe him when he said decent looking tractor, deck and 3ph for that price.

Looks like a really nice tractor !

It really runs well, its going to the farm to get the full treatment next summer. paint and a complete prep. I could not believe the 3 point was on it. I went up to Shelby at 3pm to go to Glens Surplus and get some things and figured i would call around 330. i got ahold of him and 20 mins later after talking for 10 mins was loading it up. Ya know more than anything I did not want a vulture to get it and part it. it is in nice running condition.

Clint Filges - Your PN of R66949 is correct. The reason you're unable to find it on JDParts is because the weights fall into the Wholegoods category as do tractors and attachments etc.

I joined the 300 club today. I got a 300 with rear hydraulics,, attached to the rear hydraulics in a 3 point hitch, it runs great and has the mower deck in good shape,,,,, for the grand total of $450.00 for it all. I can wait to get her cleaned up and tuned up.

Adam, I don't know. Local JD usually asks if I want parts or THE part. He just said, yes we have one in stock.

And I do believe rebuildable is a word.

Ron, is the pump rebuildable? Is rebuilable a word? My browser doesn't seem to think so. Adam

Adam, I pulled the hose right of the tank side of the pump and it flowed very well. A solid hose size flow.

Pump? I think so but just want to make certain before dropping $150 at JD. When you turn the switch you can feel the pump click but thats it.

Ron, I would check the fuel strainer in the gas tank first, pull the fuel line off that runs into the fuel pump to see if the fuel is free flowing into the pump, you will know it should be like a faucet. If it isn't pull the strainer from the gas tank and clean the screen. Then I would move to the fuel pump. Adam

Picked up this 216 with hydraulic lift, newer replacement deck, tiller(with no intermediate drive), front lift kit and an unexpected pair of wheel weights. The tractor will run and everything works, but the engine needs to be overhauled. So, before I mess the engine any more, I have put it all in storage for a complete rebuild later down the line. I have a question about which deck I have, it had a foil tag which is missing. The deck is solid with no welds or rust, but the spindles are stuck. Any help would be appreciated. Mike

I just picked up a little square fender 110. The serial number is 331741M but it does not show up on the list on this sight. It has the 10 hp kohler in it. What was the last 110 made? or am I just missing something? I am new to these green ones so bear with me. Thanks in advance.

Have a 322 that just quit. I pulled the fuel hose from the carb and no fuel. Pulled the hose from the pump side of the filter and just get a squirt of fuel upon the initial turn of the switch but that is it. As you turn over the engine there is no pumping.

Can I safely say I need a fuel pump?

Anybody have a current part number for the 40 # suitcase weights, the number I have, R66949, doesn't register in JD Parts. I like to have a part number when I call the dealer.

Thanks,

Clint

Scott,
You sure can. You will need to plumb rear hydraulic outlets. The rest of the 3 point is a self contained unit.
